It is rarely the appearance of a place that remains with us, but the feeling it leaves behind.

Landscape provides the starting point for my paintings, but not their destination. Every work begins with observation before gradually becoming an exploration of atmosphere, light and memory.

Working primarily in oil, I build each painting through successive layers, allowing colour, texture and surface to evolve over time. The process is intuitive as much as it is observed, seeking to capture the emotional experience of a landscape rather than its physical description.

Based in Lisbon, Portugal, my practice explores the shifting relationship between land, sea and sky. The resulting paintings invite viewers to inhabit places that feel remembered rather than simply seen.
